The events Pure Rally has to offer are packed with different activities to heighten the adventure for you and your car. These range from world-class scenic drive outs and convoys, to the world’s hottest clubs with the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the world’s most car-obsessed celebrity guests. Our rallies are a completely new experience. You may have taken your car to rallies before – but the true Pure Rally experience is a trip of a lifetime, so make sure that both you and your car are prepared for the road ahead.
Before Setting Off – Car Checks
To enjoy the full Pure Rally experience, your car needs to be in top condition – break-downs, failures and embarrassing roadside maintenance can really ruin your event – we know how hard you have worked on your car – so make sure that it is shining, running well and fully ready for the road ahead.
Make sure that all of your lights are working; headlights, taillights, brake lights, side lights. You name it, these need to be as bright as they possibly can be. Clean and polish the exterior to give them added dazzle.
Make sure to hydrate your car. Check the oil level, windscreen fluid, brake fluid, engine coolant – and most importantly – petrol. Ensure that you leave yourself enough fuel between pit stops; you are running with the big guns after all so make sure that you can catch up.
Check all components for signs of damage, unusual sounds, leaks or spills and make sure to pay special attention to the fan belt and engine.
Make sure that the inside of your car is gleaming. Nobody wants to see your McDonald’s boxes from the weekend before, make sure she is hoovered out and polished. If you are really serious about the adventure ahead, treat her to a valet.
This not only includes cleaning, buffing and waxing your whip until she is sparkling, but also checking the undercarriage and hoses carefully for leaks, rust or damage – even the most undetectable leaks can cause major problems when fluids are running low.
It is common knowledge that if you don’t look after your car, your car certainly won’t be looking after you – and a long journey in front of thousands of people is the ideal time for her to royally show you up.
It is safe to say that automotive components do not last forever and a lengthy drive with plenty of revving and show boating certainly won’t sustain its life expectancy. There are a number of ways to ensure that you are prepared for these eventualities and to make sure that your rally experience is not hindered by unexpected circumstances;
Taking part in a rally is not a cheap experience, it can be done on a budget, but it is essential to ensure that you have the funding available to replace any components prone to failure during long journeys and over-use – as well as being able to buy food, oil, petrol and entertainment during the experience.
Know Your Car
You have a special bond with your car that other relationships do not even come close in comparison to. You know which parts are likely to become damaged or fail during a long journey, so plan ahead and replace them prior to the rally. Additionally, ensure that you are prepared to replace any of the more delicate parts which she may surprise you with.
And Finally… Enjoy!
The final piece of advice we have for you is to enjoy yourself and make the most of this fantastic experience and the time you have amongst like-minded people. Displaying a flair for all things fuel and fast is Pure Rally’s specialty, so prepare for a trip that is going to leave you spun out. www.autoblog.com/2016/09/08/10-bad-driving-habits-that-damage-your-car
